What are you most looking forward to about judging this year's British Homes Awards and, as Chair of Judges, what are you looking for in the work?

As a country we are designing some fantastic homes and neighbourhoods, and I can't wait to see them showcased through these awards. I am keen to see places that support their residents to thrive in their day to day lives.

Why do you think the British Homes Awards are important?

The British Homes Awards are important because they provide a platform to celebrate built projects at a variety of scales from large scale regeneration to single family dwellings that all celebrate a sense of community at their heart.

What top tip would you give to this year's entrants?

We have a housing affordability crisis, so I'm keen to see examples of schemes that find the right balance of quality whilst demonstrating they are replicable and deliverable. How do we keep design quality on the agenda whilst budgets are ever shrinking?
