Ten Degrees

Greystar

Record-breaking new development Ten Degrees, situated at 100a George Street, Croydon, is currently the world’s tallest modular building setting new standards for renters in London. Formed of two adjoining 44 and 38-storey towers overlooking East Croydon station and offering panoramic views across London, the project stands as tall as the London Eye at 136m and comprises 546 spacious apartments from one to three-bedrooms. The focus is on providing a world-class service to residents with market-leading amenities to provide the utmost comfort and convenience. There are ten social spaces including two roof terraces, gym, co-working space, pet spa and games lounge. All apartments are Wi-Fi enabled, pet-friendly, and there is the option of designer furniture packages. The scale of the construction was a feat in innovation of modern methods of construction. It took just 35 weeks to install all 1,526 modules in the building – half the time it would take using traditional methods. There was a 60% reduction in on-site personnel and due to the reduced construction process, there was 80% less waste of which 97% was recycled, furthermore resulting in 50% less CO2. Apartments were manufactured on a UK-based production line and the modules were then transported to site by truck, streamlining the construction traffic to site by 80%, and significantly reducing disruption to the surrounding community. Ten Degrees marks a significant step forward in Greystar’s commitment to deliver 10,000 multi-family homes in the Capital by 2022.
