Michael Shaw

Mike Shaw established award-winning practice Proctor & Shaw Architects with John Proctor in 2018, delivering a diverse portfolio of residential projects from new build houses to refurbishments and apartment interiors. Mike's experience prior to Proctor and Shaw includes working with notable practices John Pawson, AHMM and Softroom, responsible for a broad range of projects spanning museum, residential, hospitality and retail sectors for a number of international brands, and winning RIBA competition schemes including bridges, hotels and student residences. Mike studied at the University of Edinburgh and has worked internationally in Mexico and China.

What top tip would you give to this year's entrants?

My top tip would be to invest time in carefully refining how best to communicate the essential aspects of the project submissions. Quality and clarity always rise to the top.
