What are you most looking forward to about judging this year's British Homes Awards and, as a judge, what are you looking for in the work?

What I'm most looking forward to is seeing the quality of thinking behind each project - the clarity of the brief, the discipline of the response, and the restraint to leave out what isn't needed. As a judge, I'm looking for homes that are quietly confident rather than loud - rooted in context, honest in their use of material, and considered at every scale from the site strategy down to the door handle. I'm less interested in novelty than in resolution: projects where every decision feels deliberate, and where the architecture serves the people who live there.
