Tudor Close
ROAR
: Mill Hill, Barnet
Tudor Close is a bold and vibrant reinvention of a suburban family home in Mill Hill, Barnet. Designed for a young family of four, the project delivers a highly crafted interior transformation for £487,000 + VAT, celebrating colour, texture, and personal expression while retaining and upgrading the existing structure. The design brief called for a joyful, personality-filled interior that could adapt to the family’s changing needs. We responded with a palette of saturated colours — Tessera green, Bauwerk pinks, deep rust and ochre — expressed through immersive wall finishes, custom joinery, and softened curves. Each room is cohesive yet distinct, from the fully wrapped entrance hall to the peach-toned master suite and a sculptural, light-filled kitchen designed in collaboration with Joyn Kitchens. Rather than rebuild, the team focused on intelligent reuse: preserving the existing garage, working within the footprint of a 1990s extension, and upgrading fabric performance throughout. New cavity and floor insulation, underfloor heating, timber structure upgrades, and thermally efficient windows contribute to a low-impact, high-comfort home. Crafted with care by local makers and specialists, Tudor Close exemplifies how expressive interiors can be both sustainable and budget-conscious. It is a home that reflects its inhabitants — lively, warm, and inventive — and proves that ambitious design is possible without excess.
