Stroudley Walk

Muse

: Bromley-by-Bow, London

Stroudley Walk is a 50% affordable mixed-tenure neighbourhood in Bromley-by-Bow, East London, delivered by Muse, in partnership with Poplar HARCA and the Greater London Authority. Completing in spring 2026, the development will provide 274 new homes, 115 of which are affordable. The affordable offer includes 82 family-sized homes at London Affordable Rent, including homes designed with and for families with children with autism, and 33 shared ownership homes, directly addressing local housing need. The delivery of the affordable homes was prioritised in the programme, with the first residents moving in from October 2025, whilst also maintaining financial viability across the wider masterplan. Stroudley Walk also delivers a reimagined central street, connecting the estate from north to south, with attractive green public spaces, play areas and a community centre. These shared spaces foster social interaction, strengthen community cohesion and enhance quality of life for existing and future residents. The development replaces a long derelict estate that had faced decades of stalled proposals. Previous development attempts were unable to overcome viability constraints and local concerns. Muse adopted a long-term partnership-led approach, working closely with stakeholders to unlock delivery and rebuild trust. Stroudley Walk demonstrates how collaboration, thoughtful design and a clear commitment to affordability can transform a challenging site into a sustainable, community-focused neighbourhood that meets the needs of its target market and client brief.
