South Oxhey Central

Vistry Group

South Oxhey Central is a £218m mixed-use regeneration scheme by Countryside Partnerships, part of Vistry Group, and Home Group, in partnership with Three Rivers District Council, that is transforming the existing South Oxhey town centre in Hertfordshire and three unused sites into a modern and vibrant hub for residents and businesses.

South Oxhey is an area that has suffered from a reputation for crime and antisocial behaviour, however this has been addressed through the regeneration masterplan, site layout and housing design. South Oxhey Central is delivering 659 new homes and 55,000 sq. ft. of retail and commercial space, including a 18,500 sq. ft. Lidl food store and a revamped retail experience at Carpenders Park railway station. Set amongst two acres of landscaped parks and public spaces, Countryside and Home Group have created a high-quality sustainable neighbourhood with a strong sense of place and community identity, that is attractive for living, working and recreation. Phases 1, 2 and 3A of the development are now fully complete, with 514 new homes delivered on a tenure-blind basis, helping to create an integrated and harmonious community. 48,000 sq ft of rejuvenated retail space has now opened, focused on Station Approach next to Carpenders Park railway station and along Prestwick Road, which is bringing local shops and trade back to the area. Meanwhile, friendly, safe and well-overlooked streets and public spaces that meet Secured by Design principles, are creating a more secure environment.
