This project showcases a remarkable transformation, converting a soulless HMO into a vibrant and contemporary family home in the heart of Clapham. The design maximizes the potential of a tight city site while introducing innovative spatial features. A standout is the dramatic double-height space that stretches from the sunken lower ground floor to the upper ground floor ceiling, enhancing natural light and creating a sense of openness across the two levels. A striking 5-meter-tall Crittall window divides the kitchen island, offering views of the city garden from the mezzanine above.

The industrial aesthetic of the lower ground floor is softened with thoughtful touches, introducing a harmonious blend of textures and pops of colour, creating a warm yet modern living space. The project also includes a replacement side extension and a fully remodelled interior, where restored period features seamlessly blend with contemporary design elements to redefine the home’s character.
