Palliser Road is 100% affordable residential development in London, providing 36 much-needed new homes a stone’s throw from the famous Queen’s Club in Baron’s Court. Comprising nine family homes, and a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments, offered as shared ownership and London Living Rent.

Located on the site of the former Ada Lewis House – a historic residence established in the 1920s to support working women by the wife of Samuel Lewis, the founder of the Samuel Lewis Housing Trust, which later became Southern Housing. Conceived as a bookend to two back-to-back terraced streets, clearly defining the streetscape and extending the nearby Edwardian terrace typology around the block. This continuation of local rhythm shapes an internal scooped courtyard, offering a sheltered communal heart and visual interest. Mirrored front bays, enhanced by rich red brickwork echo local mansion blocks and to complement the conservation area, weather gracefully, and bring depth to the façades. Southern Housing and architect Child Graddon Lewis worked closely with the council and local stakeholders to create a scheme that responds to the area’s character, while providing genuinely affordable homes – all delivered with a tenure-blind ethos, reinforcing inclusivity and social cohesion. As part of this commitment to preserving the site’s story, local artist Jenny Kay was commissioned to design a striking stained glass window at the entrance to the development. Jenny drew direct inspiration from the history and architecture of the original Ada Lewis House and its ethos towards supporting women.
