Mansion House is the latest phase of homes at Port Loop, a bold and innovative 43-acre regeneration project just 15 minutes from Birmingham city centre. Delivered in partnership by award-winning developer Urban Splash and the UK’s largest social enterprise, Places for People, the neighbourhood continues to push boundaries in design and placemaking.

Comprising 58 contemporary apartments, Mansion House is set within a vibrant canal-side neighbourhood that already includes 105 completed homes. The key challenge was to evolve the offer while ensuring architectural and community cohesion with earlier phases. This was achieved through thoughtful design, a strong urban grain, and close collaboration with local stakeholders. The development is built with flexibility, sustainability, and community at its core - offering modern homes that meet the needs of a wide demographic, including families, professionals, and downsizers – with affordable apartments at Mansion House available through a government-backed Shared Ownership scheme. All homes are designed with generous ceiling heights, high thermal efficiency, and large windows to maximise light and connectivity to the surrounding public realm. Port Loop as a whole will deliver over 1,000 homes, a new community hub, leisure centre, swimming pool, commercial spaces, and Birmingham’s first new public green space in over a decade. More than 1.5km of new towpaths will enhance walking and cycling routes into the city. Mansion House exemplifies the project’s ambition: to create a new kind of neighbourhood - inclusive, future-focused, and designed for 21st-century living.
