Grand Union

Berkeley

Grand Union is an exciting and truly sustainable mixed-use neighbourhood, which has transformed a previously untouched and unique location at the confluence of the Grand Union canal and River Brent. St George’s vision was is to create a thriving community immersed in nature, with over half of the 22-acre site dedicated to landscaped gardens, meadows and riverside walks. This pioneering regeneration project is located in Alperton, close to Wembley. It opens up this stretch of the canal to the public for the first time in its history. Set for ultimate completion in 2037, over the intervening years Grand Union will become an urban oasis not just for the families who live there, but for the surrounding community too.

Grand Union will offer 3,350 beautiful manhattan, one, two, and three-bedroom homes (including 35% affordable), set in 14 acres of green open spaces which include stunning landscaped gardens, riverside meadows and walkways. The 400 families who have moved in so far are enjoying the new on-site Community Hub and Canalside Piazza that offers a vibrant waterside space which will soon be further brought to life with the introduction of cafés, and restaurants, supermarket, medical centre, and a nursery. A central park will form a natural refuge for wildlife and the riverside meadow will have a relaxed green landscape incorporating trim trails, places to relax and educational information. New trees, widened footpaths, cycle lanes, additional seating, lights and planting are creating an improved and greener route to Stonebridge Park Station.
