As long-term custodians of characterful heritage buildings, Dorrington is passionate about creating modern homes and workspaces through innovative design and a hands-on client approach, while respecting the original character of each space. We have established the Dorrington Residential Product with key design principles and standards, which mindfully retain the aesthetics of the building and provide a framework to upgrade the interior to a timeless finish, the environmental performance of the building fabric; and to prioritise the health and wellbeing of the occupier.

Our design focus, attention to detail and aesthetic aspiration is evident at the recent apartment refurbishments at Connaught Mansions - a Victorian red-brick mansion block located on Prince Wales Drive, SW11. In 2024 we comprehensively refurbished three apartments as pilot schemes for the building. Designed to last 20 years without major upgrades, the apartments have been restored to meet current environmental standards though use of modern sustainable materials and traditional building elements while preserving their original charm and timeless aesthetics. One of the apartments was fully furnished and dressed, emphasising our commitment to quality, durability and timeless aesthetics. The finished scheme exceeded expectations not just in terms of the quality of design and finishes but also in terms of rent levels and demand and user feedback - the uniquely designed apartments offer generous light-filled open plan living areas perfect for entertaining, well-proportioned bedrooms, impeccable detailing with ample storage to suit individuals, couples and families alike.
