YTL is transforming the historic 400‑acre Filton Airfield into Brabazon, a vibrant new neighbourhood for Bristol. Once the birthplace of Concorde, Brabazon honours this pioneering legacy while meeting the region’s housing, economic and social needs.

Its ambition is clear: with plans to deliver over 6,500 homes supported by the essential ingredients of a complete place, from new schools and healthcare provision to creative spaces, modern workspaces and sustainable transport links. That vision is now coming to life. To date, 320 homes have been delivered across two phases. Designed by award-winning architects, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, the homes combine architectural excellence, energy-efficiency and community-first principles. Brabazon is setting a benchmark for brownfield regeneration – momentum that has contributed to the recommendation that it becomes one of the UK’s ‘New Towns’. Located five miles north of Bristol’s city centre, Brabazon sits within a world‑leading cluster of aerospace, engineering and technology. It provides quality homes close to major employment hubs and will deliver 3-million sq ft of commercial space. Construction is also under way on 1,500 purpose‑built student accommodation beds, while cafés, community hubs, green spaces and offices are already open. In 2028, the neighbourhood will welcome the 20,000‑capacity Aviva Arena. Delivery has not been without challenge. In response to escalating construction costs and supply‑chain disruption, YTL established YTL Construction UK, integrating design, procurement and delivery to maintain momentum and resilience. Through innovation, long‑term stewardship and a clear focus on community, Brabazon is emerging as a thriving new town for the South West.
