David Nossiter

David Nossiter is the principal of David Nossiter Architects. He won a British Homes Award for Church Hill Barn, which was featured on the TV programme Grand Designs. Renowned for his expertise in barn conversions, he has written for Grand Designs Magazine and Homebuilding & Renovating and has served on judging panels including the RIBA London Awards.

What top tip would you give to this year's entrants?

Be clear about what drives the project. Whether it is a new build or a transformation, explain the key decisions and how they have shaped the outcome. A clear idea, carried through consistently and executed with care, will always stand out. The strongest submissions demonstrate restraint and rigour.
