Camilla Parsons is the founding director of the award-winning architectural studio Whittaker Parsons, Building Design's Young Architect of the Year 2023 finalist and included in the prestigious Architecture Foundations New Architects 4 publication. Whittaker Parsons's mantra is to build less, design better - this is applied to their work across sectors, focusing on optimising value and finding worth. As a Certified Passivhaus Designer with a background in creative conservation, Camilla is committed to enhancing the built environment through sustainable design and innovation. She specializes in optimising the performance of existing structures and new additions. Camilla leads her studio's efforts to reduce operational energy use and carbon emissions across projects. She actively advocates for advancing architectural practice and education, sitting on prominent industry panels, speaking at events, and leading workshops with schoolchildren across London. She inspires the next generation of designers to think critically about sustainability and the built environment.

What are you most looking forward to about judging this year's British Homes Awards and, as a judge, what are you looking for in the work?

I'm excited to judge this year's British Homes Awards, eager to see innovative design and sustainable solutions shaping the future of housing. As a judge, I'll focus on creativity, craftsmanship, and functionality, prioritizing projects that blend aesthetics with practicality while pushing design and environmental responsibility boundaries.
