The three cast iron gasholder guide frames at King’s Cross are distinctive features of the landscape. King’s Cross Central Limited Partnership has given this industrial heritage pride of place in its broader regeneration. The listed guide frames have been restored and three apartment buildings, containing 145 homes in all, housed within them. Wilkinson Eyre’s design for the apartment blocks continues the industrial aesthetic with steel and glass cladding textured with a veil of shutters.
