The winner of the Award for Apartment Development of the Year is Brentford Lock West Block E in west London by Waterside Places: here’s why.
This 42 home scheme is part of the ongoing regeneration of a brownfield site beside the Grand Union Canal by Waterside Places, the joint venture of Canal & Riverside Trust and Muse Developments. The scheme design, by Mae, makes reference to its site’s industrial past, the saw-tooth roofs of the pavilion buildings prominent on the skyline. The blocks are faced in brick, insitu concrete and reconstituted stone, complementing the historic setting and the scheme’s first phase.
