How to enter

Entry is online. Please use the details below to compose your written submission and submit online at

Entries require a written submission and supporting photographs.

What your entry needs to include:

Written submission: Up to 1000 words to accompany the entry(s) together with fully captioned floor plans or site plans. When composing your entry you should consider the following qualities that the judges will be looking for:

  • Design quality
  • Relationship with and contribution to context
  • Innovation in design and delivery
  • Ability to meet the needs of the target market

Photographs: Within the entry submission, upload your relevant photographs. Please also include a word document that includes a short caption that identifies the scheme/project and when built. The captions should be clearly titled to relate to uploaded photograph file names. Where a conversion or refurbishment was involved include before and after images. Photographs must be free of copyright and reproduction fees. If requested the photographer’s name will be credited.

Images provided with award entries must be predominantly project photography, and not computer generated images. The exception to this rule is the Housing Project Award, which relates to unbuilt projects and so relies on computer generated images/drawings.

Online submission: Please advise the contact details of the company submitting the entry. This could be a PR/Marketing Agency or Architect or Interior Designer submitting on behalf of its developer/homebuilder/social housing provider client(s).

Company logo: Please upload with your entry the company logo(s) for use on awards’ certificates, at the presentation and on communication materials (on or offline).

The British Homes Awards invite entries from home builders, developers, housing associations, architects and interior designers.
